I was born and raised in Campbell County, Virginia, and graduated from Rustburg High School. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from James Madison in 2010 as a double major in Communication Studies and Modern Foreign Language-Spanish. I immediately enrolled at the George Mason University School of Law full-time and graduated with my Juris Doctorate in 2013. I passed the bar that year and began in private practice in 2014. Most of my first year was spent focusing on representing citizens in the City of Emporia and County of Greensville with criminal charges.
In January of 2015, I accepted a job as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney, also in Emporia. I was privileged to have excellent coworkers and supervisors who let me handle a wide variety of complicated criminal prosecutions. I spent three-and-a-half years with that office before deciding to return to private practice and use the knowledge I had gained to help in a different way. I have returned home to the Lynchburg area and opened my own practice to help the citizens of the community where I grew up.
